New leadership appointments and celebrating our Super Doctors
Scott Perry, M.D., named to national leadership positions
Scott Perry, M.D., head of Neurosciences at the Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health, was recently elected to leadership positions for two important organizations within the child neurology community. In October 2023, Dr. Perry was chosen to serve as President-Elect of the Child Neurology Foundation (CNF). This organization is dedicated to connecting the child neurology community – ensuring patients navigating the journey of disease diagnosis, management and care, have support from individuals dedicated to treatments and cures. Dr. Perry has served on the CNF Board of Directors since 2019 supporting the organization’s efforts to serve as a collaborative center of education, resources and support for children and their families living with neurological conditions, and facilitating connection with medical professionals who care for them. Dr. Perry will assume the role of President at the conclusion of his two-year term.
In January 2024, Dr. Perry began his term as President of the Board of Directors for the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium (PERC), a non-profit organization composed of over 60 U.S. pediatric epilepsy centers providing a network and infrastructure to facilitate collegial, collaborative, practice-changing research. Cook Children’s has been a member of this organization for nearly a decade, and Dr. Perry founded the epilepsy surgery special interest group of the organization in 2017. He subsequently initiated the PERC Surgery Database project, collecting data on children referred for epilepsy surgery across 24 centers. PERC achieved 501c3 non-profit status in 2023. Dr. Perry looks forward to leading the organization into its next phase over the two years of his term.
